ABBA’s Björn Ulvaeus and Benny Andersson have told Newsnight that AI-generated music should have warnings on it.
The pair who co-wrote hits such as Mamma Mia, Dancing Queen, and Thank You for the Music, say people should be able to distinguish between tracks composed by songwriters, musicians, artists, and bands, and those which have been created by artificial intelligence technology.
Ulvaeus believes AI could have more of an impact on our lives than the internet.
Newsnight’s Victoria Derbyshire spoke to them in a joint exclusive interview to mark the one year anniversary of London’s ABBA Voyage show, where ground-breaking technology has created 2D versions of the four band members called avatars.
