Afghan children battle malnutrition and measles as 23m face extreme hunger – BBC News


Concern is rising over the deepening humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan, where close to 23 million people are facing extreme levels of hunger.

After the Taliban took power, foreign funding – which had made up the majority of government spending – came largely to an end, whilst the country’s foreign reserves have been frozen.

Our Afghanistan correspondent Secunder Kermani and cameraman Malik Mudassir have spent a day at one hospital in the remote province Ghor, where resources are being stretched to their limit.
