Around the world, the UN says that almost 1 in 10 children are having to work as a result of economic hardship – and in poorer countries the figure is nearer one in five.
Child labour, according to Unicef, has devastating and sometimes deadly consequences.
One country where it’s on the rise is Lebanon, which has been through multiple crises in the past few years – from an economic meltdown to COVID and then the huge blast in Beirut in 2020.
