The 2026 Winter Olympics are about to get under way in Italy, with the games returning to the country after two decades.
For the first time, they will be co-hosted by two cities, stretching across northern Italy – from the fashion capital Milan, to the peaks of Cortina d’Ampezzo.
Milan’s San Siro Stadium will stage the opening ceremony on Friday, featuring musical performances from Mariah Carey and Andrea Bocelli.
