Astronauts in space for nine months didn’t know if they would ‘be able to make it back’ | BBC News

After nine months in space, Nasa astronauts Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams arrived back on Earth.

They were taking part in the first crewed test flight of the Starliner spacecraft, developed by aerospace company Boeing.

But the capsule suffered several technical problems during its journey to the space station, and it was deemed too risky to take the astronauts home.

Two months after their return to Earth, BBC’s Reagan Morris spoke to them and looked back at their extraordinary mission.
