At least 50 people are reported to have been killed in Gaza in what local officials say were Israeli air strikes.
Israeli warplanes dropped six bombs simultaneously on the European Hospital in Khan Younis, a spokesman for the Hamas-run civil defence agency has said, killing 28.
The Israeli military said it had conducted a "precise strike" on "Hamas terrorists in a command and control centre" which it claimed was beneath the hospital.
There are also reports of numerous deaths at the Jabalia refugee camp which was hit overnight after the Israeli military issued an evacuation order for the area.
