The Australian Open is underway in Melbourne after being delayed for three weeks.
Taking place in a country that has enforced some of the world’s toughest restrictions during the coronavirus pandemic, months of hard work and negotiations came to fruition when the first Grand Slam of the year started on Monday.
Tournament organisers revealed there were 17,922 visitors on the opening day when Tennis stars including Novak Djokovic and Serena Williams were playing. In comparison, 64,387 fans last year.
