Baltimore bridge collapse ‘unthinkable tragedy’, says city’s mayor I BBC News


The collapse of Francis Scott Key Bridge in the US city of Baltimore has been described as a "tragedy you could never imagine” by the city’s mayor.

A large container ship hit the structure at around 01:30 ET (05:30 GMT); several people and vehicles fell into the Patapsco River.

Rescuers are searching for at least seven people, authorities say, while two others have been pulled from the water
