The Ukrainian resistance has slowed the advance on Kyiv but there is a 40-mile-long convoy of Russian military vehicles approaching the Ukrainian capital and Russian bombing of the city has caused civilian casualties.
President Zelensky has accused Russia of committing war crimes in targeting civilian targets in the city and around the country.
For now, as Russian troops approach Kyiv citizens are preparing to fight.
