Sri Lankan author Shehan Karunatilaka has scooped the Booker Prize 2022.
He won the coveted prize with a supernatural satire set amid a Sri Lankan civil war.
His novel, called The Seven Moons of Maali Almeida, tells the story of a photographer who wakes up dead, with a week to ask his friends to find his photos and expose the brutality of war.
Camilla, the Queen Consort, presented the prize to Mr Karunatilaka, who described the win as “fabulous”.
