US President Donald Trump has announced a "complete and total" ceasefire between Israel and Iran on social media.
Trump said the ceasefire will begin "in approximately six hours" after each country has "wound down" their military operations.
Earlier, Iran launched missiles at a US military base in Qatar, in response to the US bombing of its three key nuclear sites. The missiles were all intercepted and there were no casualties.
It appeared that the attack was carefully orchestrated, with Qatar and the US forewarned by Iran. President Trump thanked Iran for giving “early notice” of the attack and said it was time for peace.
