Across the United States almost 20,000 migrant children are being held in detention camps after entering the country illegally.
Many of them travelled alone from central America and were caught crossing the border. Their families hoped they’d be able to begin new lives in the United States.
However a BBC team has heard accounts from detained children of suffering extreme neglect and being held in cold and filthy conditions.
