China’s President Xi Jinping said the world faces a choice of “peace or war”, as he watched a huge military parade in Beijing, along with Russia’s Vladimir Putin and North Korea’s Kim Jong Un.
It marks the first time the three leaders have met together, at the event which marked 80 years since China’s victory over Japan in World War Two.
Laser weapons, nuclear ballistic missiles and giant underwater drones were among new weapons unveiled at the parade, and Xi said his country was "unstoppable" and will "never be intimidated" by bullies.
