Chinese motorcyclists join wildfire battle – BBC News

A record-long heatwave and drought have triggered wildfires that have raged across areas of China throughout August, with thousands of firefighters were mobilised across the country.

Around the south-western city of Chongqing, one of the worst-hit areas, local off-road motorcyclists have joined the effort, transporting emergency workers and essential supplies to areas that were otherwise hard to reach.

Some of the volunteers have been speaking about their efforts to help and coming face to face with the effects of climate change.
