Does China want Russia to win the war in Ukraine? | BBC Ukrainecast


Xi Jinping welcomed Vladimir Putin and a host of other world leaders to Beijing this week, as the Russian president continued his re-emergence on the diplomatic stage. But while President Xi talked up new non-western alliances, the status quo continued in Europe as the ‘Coalition of the Willing’ convened in Paris.

Amid two competing visions of global leadership, and the notable absence of Donald Trump, has this week changed anything for Ukraine? To discuss, Lucy Hockings and Vitaly Shevchenko are joined by the BBC’s chief international correspondent, Lyse Doucet.
