Donald Trump addresses Republican convention in first speech since shooting | BBC News


Five days after surviving an assassination attempt, Donald Trump has addressed the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

In a 90-minute speech, he described the moment he narrowly avoided being hit by an assassin’s bullet, before being smothered by Secret Service agents.

"I’m not supposed to be here," he told the crowd, adding: "I had God on my side”.
