Parts of Europe are currently experiencing severe drought, after record low levels of winter rainfall.
France has seen no significant rainfall for more than a month – its longest dry spell on record.
Large parts of Western Europe are currently affected, with weather experts saying that the conditions are putting vegetation and plants “under stress”.
Last year was France’s hottest year on record, according to national weather agency Météo-France.
Now, the country is in a state of alert, with the next few months set to prove decisive.
