Dopo avere interpretato Brenda Walsh nella serie tv Beverly Hills 90210, indossa i panni di Prue Halliwell nella serie tv Streghe.
Nel 2001 gira insieme a Julian McMahon il film tv Another Day, mentre nel 2002 è ancora il regista Kevin Smith a rilanciarla nel cinema con il film Jay & Silent Bob… Fermate Hollywood!. Nel 2003 e 2004 presenta il reality show Scare Tactics sulla rete statunitense Sci Fi Channel.
