E1 racing is the world’s first electric raceboat championship that aims to prove the potential of electric power in the marine industry.
The race has already attracted global attention with international celebrities like tennis player Rafael Nadal and Hollywood actor Will Smith becoming E1 team owners.
These boats can reach 50 knots (93km/h), but how do they reach those speeds?
The BBC’s Alasdair Keane is in Lake Como to find out more about the tech powering the electric raceboats.
