Elon Musk’s platform X has limited Grok Artificial Intelligence (AI) image edits to paid users after significant backlash over people using it to digitally undress people without their consent.
Grok is integrated into the social media platform X and it’s been used to generate deep fake sexualised images of women and children.
The UK government said the move "simply turns an AI feature that allows the creation of unlawful images into a premium service” and that it was “insulting” to victims of misogyny and sexual violence.
The BBC has approached X for comment.
