Family reunited after a decade – now a Trump clampdown could tear them apart | BBC News


More than a million people in the United States rely on a scheme called TPS, or Temporary Protected Status.

It allows people to live and work in America if their country of origin is unsafe to return to.

In February, 350,000 Haitians will lose that protection and face a very uncertain future if they’re returned home where gangs reportedly control about 90% of the capital, Port-au-Prince.
