Fifa to arrive on Netflix | Global News Podcast

A brand new Fifa game is coming to Netflix in 2026, several years after its acrimonious split with developer EA.

The project, which is set to launch in time for next year’s World Cup, is being developed and published by Delphi Interactive, makers of IO Interactive’s James Bond project, 007: First Light.

It will be playable via smartphone, but reaction to the announcement has so far been mixed, with some fans questioning whether the mobile-first focus from Netflix was the way forward for the franchise.

We speak to our technology reporter Laura Cress.
