Frontline report: terrified civilians flee Russian advance in eastern Ukraine – BBC News

Russian forces are closing in on the city of Lysychansk in the eastern Donbas region of Ukraine.

It’s the latest focus of Russia’s war effort, with their forces close to the edge of the city.

Around 8,000 civilians still remain there, out of a pre-war population of 100,000.

Many are reluctant to leave despite the terrible destruction and risk to their lives as Russian forces approach.

Huw Edwards presents a BBC News at Ten special report by Orla Guerin and Colm O’Molloy, who joined a group of volunteers helping remaining civilians to flee.
