Since 7 October 2023, all schools, universities and training centres in Gaza have remained closed.
Figures from the Palestinian Ministry of Education say that almost 13,000 Palestinian students have been killed since the start of the war with Israel, while 21,000 more students have been wounded in the Gaza Strip and the occupied West Bank.
They also say that more than 400 government schools have been bombed by the Israeli military.
