Israel is continuing its massive mobilisation of hundreds of thousands of troops on the boundary with Gaza, ahead of a widely expected ground offensive into the territory.
The United Nations is calling for essential supplies to be allowed into Gaza, where the humanitarian situation is deteriorating rapidly, as Israel enforces a complete siege.
Gaza, which is home to more than 2 million people, is running short of power, food, water and medical supplies.
It follows the attack on Israel by Hamas militants who are now known to have killed at least 1,200 people in the assault.
It’s believed that Hamas are holding more than 100 hostages in Gaza, who were seized during the raids in Israel.
