Gazan student: ‘I am starving and suffering from memory loss’ | BBC News

A student in Gaza has told the BBC that he “could not find food” and is “starving and suffering from memory loss due to the lack of food”.

Rezeq Rok, in Khan Yunis, said Gazans are also struggling to access education after schools and education centres were destroyed.

Essential supplies remain scarce in Gaza, with basic food items now priced well beyond the means of most families.

The Hamas-run health ministry in Gaza says that 10 people have died of malnutrition in the last 24 hours alone.

Israeli government spokesperson David Mencer accused Hamas of "trying to prevent the distribution of food".

He claimed aid has been flowing in to Gaza through the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation, adding that there is no famine caused by Israel, but a "man-made shortage engineered by Hamas".
