German self-funded pilots are volunteering to fly to Ukraine’s border with Poland to deliver medical supplies.
Ukraine Air Rescue have also been helping to evacuate vulnerable refugees on their return journey.
Anton, who has arthritis and would otherwise struggle to flee Ukraine, is one of the many evacuees they have helped.
The group of 260 pilots who are signed up often pay up to €3,000 per flight for the fuel themselves.
