Il pilota olandese della Red Bull conquista il successo negli Stati Uniti (con giro veloce), avvicinandosi a Charles Leclerc nella lotta per il Mondiale. Il monegasco della Ferrari ci prova nel finale ma chiude in seconda posizione. Podio completato dall’altra Rossa di Carlos Sainz, bravo a tenere alle spalle il messicano Sergio Perez (Red Bull). Lotta tutta targata Mercedes per la quinta posizione vinta da George Russell su Lewis Hamilton (sesto). Settimo invece Valtteri Bottas (Alfa Romeo) davanti a Esteban Ocon e Fernando Alonso (Alpine). Da segnalare una safety car per via di un contatto tra Pierre Gasly (Alpha Tauri) e Lando Norris con quest’ultimo andato a muro e costretto al ritiro. Ritiro ad inizio gara anche per l’Alfa Romeo del cinese Guanyu Zhou.
