Hawaii’s Mauna Loa volcano lava seen from space – BBC News


Aerial footage has shown fountains of lava bursting from the Mauna Loa volcano in Hawaii after it erupted for the first time in 40 years.

It’s the largest active volcano in the world and its eruption was large enough that it could be seen from space.

Experts have said it could take weeks for the lava to reach residents.
