Heavy rain in Majorca suspends flights | BBC News

Aeroplanes have been unable to take off from Majorca’s Palma Airport because of flooding on the runway.

A storm caused nearly 9cm of rain to fall in less than an hour in Palma, leading airport officials to activate an emergency plan.

Eyewitnesses reported chaotic scenes of passengers running for cover from water pouring through the roof of Spain’s third biggest airport.
