It is deposition day for Hillary Clinton, who is being asked questions by members of the US House Oversight Committee as part of their investigation into Jeffrey Epstein.
The former secretary of state posted her full opening statement on social media – in it, she denies knowing anything about Epstein’s criminal activities and challenges the Committee to depose US President Donald Trump.
Trump has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing in relation to the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
Clinton said she has no information on Epstein’s crimes, and does not recall ever meeting or speaking to him.
There is no suggestion that appearing in the Epstein documents, millions of files relating to the late sex offender, implies any wrongdoing.
