How journalist helped to expose Lance Armstrong’s doping in cycling – BBC News

Disgraced cyclist Lance Armstrong’s doping was reported on by journalist David Walsh for more than 12 years.

At the time, the champion cyclist strongly denied the claims and Mr Walsh and The Sunday Times even faced being sued for libel.

It wasn’t until 2013 that Armstrong finally admitted he did use performance enhancing drugs and promised TV presenter Oprah that he would apologise to David.

Armstrong was stripped of the seven Tour titles he won from 1999-2005 after admitting to doping following the years of denials.
