High tides and rain in the US city of Boston can be problematic for those living near the water and sometimes, flooding can be unpredictable and destructive.

Technology developed in Hawaii has helped provide real-time data to residents in some areas of Boston to help predict whether flood waters are on the way, giving them enough time to prepare.
