How TikTok is changing Colombia’s view of cocaine production – BBC News


TikTok videos have opened a new window into Colombia’s illegal, cocaine producing industry as coca workers share videos about their daily lives.

The videos show people working in the fields and in processing labs, who see their involvement in the industry as the only way to escape poverty.

Colombia will vote in presidential elections next year and what to do about cocaine production will be one of the key issues for the candidates.

These videos could shift the debate and make Colombians question who exactly the enemy is in Colombia’s war on drugs
