Inside Afghanistan: millions of children suffering extreme malnutrition | BBC News

Millions of children in Afghanistan are suffering extreme food shortages with many dying from hunger and disease. The United Nations says more than three million children under the age of 5 are malnourished.

The humanitarian crisis is worsening in a country suffering extreme poverty after years of war and economic collapse.

Major aid donors including the United States and UK have cut aid since the Taliban took over the country in 2021.

Clive Myrie presents BBC News at Ten reporting from Afghanistan by Yogita Limaye.
