Iran accuses US of ‘hypocrisy’ on human rights – BBC News

Iran has accused the US of "hypocrisy" on human rights after President Joe Biden said he would impose "further costs" over its response to protests in the country.

A wave of unrest has rocked Iran since 22-year-old Mahsa Amini died last month after being arrested by the morality police. She had allegedly failed to observe the Islamic republic’s strict dress code for women.

The violence has led to the deaths of dozens of people and hundreds of arrests.
