Israel claims “beginning of the end” for Hamas as some fighters surrender | BBC News

Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said that dozens of Hamas members have surrendered and it is “the beginning of the end” for the group.

Intense fighting is continuing in Gaza with more Israeli air strikes, while Palestinian rocket fire has targeted southern and central Israel.

Israeli tanks have been moving further into Gaza’s southern city of Khan Younis, with Israel ordering civilians to flee.
