Sharone Lifschitz’s parents were two of the 242 people who were taken hostage in October by Hamas.

Her 85-year-old mother, Yohevet, was released 17 days later.

Sharone believes her 83-year-old father, Oded, is still being held hostage in Gaza but she does not know if he is dead or alive.

BBC Newsnight heard from her about her parents and the situation of hostages taken by Hamas, which is proscribed as a terrorist organisation by the UK and other governments.
