JD Vance makes his VP pitch to America | BBC Americast

On day three of the Republican National Convention, JD Vance gave his first major speech since being picked as the Republican vice-presidential candidate.

Speaking to the Republican convention in Milwaukee, he described himself as a "working-class boy" and said that Donald Trump’s policies will help left-behind voters.

In the Democrat camp, President Joe Biden confirmed he had tested positive for Covid-19, whilst facing new questions over his candidacy in the November election – with his campaign events currently on pause.

On this week’s Americast, the BBC’s Sarah Smith and Anthony Zurcher discuss another huge day in American politics from Milwaukee.
