Kamala Harris has told her first election campaign rally that American voters face “a choice between freedom and chaos”. She was speaking in the critical swing state of Wisconsin.
It came as senior Democrats threw their support behind Kamala Harris to be their party’s candidate in November’s presidential election, after Joe Biden withdrew from the race.
The most powerful Democrats in Congress, Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries, announced their support for Ms Harris shortly before the rally. Kamala Harris was launching her campaign with just 105 days to go before the election.
