Kansas City police chief Stacey Graves has confirmed one person has been killed after a shooting near the city’s Super Bowl victory parade.
Graves said the number of injured people is still unclear, but as many as 15 people have sustained gunshot wounds.
She said officers took two people into custody and law enforcement officers “immediately rendered life sustaining aid to those victims”.
Mayor Quinton Lucas confirmed that all the players and staff of the Kansas City Chiefs are safe, adding that he was one of the people who ran for safety when the shooting started.
