Kherson infrastructure being rebuilt ‘from scratch’ – BBC News

Infrastructure in Kherson, Ukraine, damaged by Russian shelling is having to be rebuilt “from scratch”, engineers from a Ukrainian energy company have said.

"Before, work like this was only necessary after extreme weather. Now it’s like we’re rebuilding the whole cable network from scratch," engineer Andrii Kysenko said.

As the Kherson region continues to be liberated following Russia’s retreat, the demand on Ukraine’s strained energy grid has risen, and authorities are urging people to leave the region temporarily.
