South Korea is to compensate Korean labourers who were forced to work for Japan during the Second World War.
The deal has been made to compensate victims and to try and ease tensions between Seoul and Tokyo over one of the most difficult issues in the history between the two neighbouring countries.
During Japanese colonial rule, workers were forced to enter coal mines and work in factories for no pay.
