Lebanon is facing a “terrible” refugee crisis, with people “left destitute or displaced by Israeli air strikes”, said the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.
More than 1,110 people have been killed in Israeli strikes since 23 September, according to Lebanese authorities, with more than 1.2 million people displaced by the ongoing fighting.
Israel said it’s targeting Hezbollah’s leadership and infrastructure.
In response, Hezbollah has fired dozens of rockets into northern Israel, as the group said an air base near Haifa was among targets.
