Life-threatening storms have brought heavy rain and flooding to large parts of California.
More than 22 million people are currently under flood watch, according to the National Weather Service – almost as many as the population of Australia – and thousands have had to evacuate.
At least seventeen people are now known to have died, with officials warning the conditions could lead to further, dangerous landslides.
