Andy Burnham has said he will try and run for Parliament as pressure continues to mount on Prime Minister Keir Starmer.
Labour MP Josh Simons stepped aside as MP for Makerfield earlier today, with Burnham saying he has submitted a request to take his place in a by-election in a bid to become an MP.
This follows Wes Streeting resigning as health secretary, suggesting a leadership contest for leader of the Labour Party and Prime Minister of the UK could be on the horizon.
