A NBA basketball player and coach are two of several people across the US who have been charged in an illegal sports betting case, according to the BBC’s partner CBS News.
Portland Trail Blazers coach Chauncey Billups and Miami Heat player Terry Rozier were arrested after Wednesday’s games, CBS reports.
Prosecutors in New York and FBI Director Kash Patel are expected to speak at 10:00 EST (15:00 BST) to announce the arrests in the case.
CBS says federal investigators had been probing unusual betting activity related to a March 2023 game Rozier played for the Charlotte Hornets.
