Music ‘essential to mental health’ as people listen more than ever before – BBC News


Fans are listening to more music today than ever before, averaging 20.1 hours of listening each week.

69% of people said music is important to their mental health, and almost as many said that music is important when they exercise.

The increase has mostly been driven by subscription services, with 46% of people paying for premium platforms with uninterrupted access to millions of tracks.
