Hezbollah has suffered a string of military defeats by Israel, culminating in the assassination of its leader Hassan Nasrallah in Beirut, in a huge bombing raid by the Israeli military.
Many more of its senior commanders are said to have been killed by Israel in recent days. It follows the detonation of explosives in electronic pagers and radios that killed and wounded thousands of Hezbollah members across Lebanon.
So how did Israel and its Mossad security service manage to carry out these operations? How did it track down and assassinate Hezbollah’s leader, a man who was heavily protected and had had survived decades as head of the organisation?
