North Korea tests missile as South gets ready for new president – BBC News


North Korea is testing its weapons with renewed urgency.

Earlier this week, the country fired its 14th known round of missiles so far this year.

It comes days before South Korea’s new president, Yoon Suk-yeol, takes office, who is promising to take a hard line on North Korea.

The outgoing president, Moon Jae-in staked his legacy on achieving a breakthrough with the North using diplomacy, but his attempts failed.
